Boundless by Cynthia Hand

Title: Boundless
Author: Cynthia Hand
Pages: 438
Rating: 4/5 stars

"The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life.

Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California - and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.

As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfill her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.

In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all."

This book was like all the others. Witty. Charming. Beautifully written. And I could write a whole review about the wonders of Cynthia Hand, but I feel like I am inclined to talk about the problems first.

It wasn't really finished. It was rush-finished. After the emotional whirlwind, I felt cheated. Hand drops a huge bomb on us, doesn't fully explain everything, then slaps on a epilogue that takes place almost a decade after.

Why Cynthia Hand, why?

I have some real concerns:
Like what was going on with Jeffrey's purpose?
What was up with Christian just leaving? Is Clara's purpose over? And most importantly, I need to know more about this prophet thing.

And now I will never know,will I?

How I wish this was more than a trilogy.

Now lets talk about my Tucker problem. He wasn't in it nearly as much as I wished. Which made me fall for Christian instead. Cause you see, Christian was shown as the perfect boy. He was her best friend and was able to understand what she was going through. Plus he was a gentleman and uber sweet. So I actually thought she may pick Christian. But now I now that is foolish and the girl always picks the first boy in young adult fiction. *sigh*.

Then Mr. Tucker over here confesses his love for Clara and Clara realizes that Tucker is her one and only and her "home". And so this of course is the perfect moment for Mr. Christian to walk in with movies to cheer Clara up. And basically that was when my heart broke. Poor Christian. The poor guy had his heart shattered then the girl he loved passed out. Sheesh, right?

But there are good points too of course. Like the action and the dialogue. It is a hilarious series and despite my bipolar feels I would, and have, recommend it. It is my favorite angel series.

So go read this series, but expect to be on a roller coaster through hell. Literally.

  1. Warning about the SPOILERS!!!!

OMG, yes!!!!!!! I thought I was the only one that felt that way about Christian. My hear broke in ten million pieces when he walk in with the movies. (Seriously it took me at least 15 minute to composed my self and open the book again.) (Then she pass out all I could do is hit myself with the book) Then I cry in the end ugh I was a mess. ⓤⓝⓑⓔⓛⓘⓔⓥⓐⓑⓛⓔ◕‿◕

    1. Oh, I know. I was so upset. I feel that it was a poor way to end such a fantastic series.

  2. great review
